【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedtomeasuretheerosionratesofablativeantifoulingpaintsystemsexposedtoflowingwateratvelocitiesdesignedtosubjectthepaintsystemtoshearstressesexperiencedinservice.Measurementoferosionratesarenecessarytohelpintheassessmentofablativeantifoulingpaintfilmthicknessesrequiredforfoulingcontrolbetweenscheduleddrydockingsofships,intheselectionofmaterials,inproducingqualityassurance,andinunderstandingtheperformancemechanism.Thetestdataisintendedtoserveasaguideforpredictingtheservicelifeofablativeantifoulingpaintsinordertocalculatethenecessarypaintthicknesstofitspecifieddeploymentcycles.Erosionratesofantifoulingpaintsinservicewillvarydependingonsuchfactorsas:berthinglocation,geographicareaofoperation,salinity,pH,andtemperatureofseawater.Itshouldalsoberecognizedthatsomeareasoftheshiparesubjecttodifferenterosionrates.Thedegreeofcorrelationbetweenresultsobtainedfromthistestmethodandshipboardservicehasnotbeendetermined.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoferosionratesformarineantifoulingpaintsystemsimmersedinflowingnaturalseawater.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecifichazardstatement,seeSection7.
